EMERGING SAFER, STRONGER THROUGH COVID-19.
The onset of the unprecedented pandemic in the early 2020 caught many organisations off guard, including ours. Despite being in the healthcare industry, we had little knowledge of the kind of devastation and impact the virus would have on our company and the world.
Despite the setback, our team’s agility and dynamic composition set us apart. We took on the pandemic with an unwavering focus to create an impact as a responsible organisation for:
Year 2020 was indeed a challenging one. Yet we Reset to Emerge Stronger in year 2021.

EPIANS' WELFARE FIRST
THE HEALTH AND SAFETY OF EPIANS IS OUR TOP PRIORITY.
In all the uncertainty, one thing is certain – the health and safety of EPians are our top priority. We were quick to set up a Group-wide Vaccination Day, to inoculate our employees with the Influenza vaccine to reduce the risks of contracting even the commonest flu.
An internal Covid-19 Task Force Committee was formed to act as the main information centre and gatekeeper to all Covid-19 related matters, from managing the latest developments, Standard Operating Procedures to equipping our Great Workplace according to safety measures recommended by the Ministry of Health.
First Covid-19 Task Force Committee 2020/2021
In ensuring our people are safe and patients have uninterrupted access to the medicines they need, our agile teams were quick to obtain approval from the Ministry of International Trade & Industry (MITI Malaysia) to operate under the Essential Service category.
We pride ourselves for being the first pharmaceutical company in Malaysia to have obtained this approval.
First pharmaceutical company in Malaysia to have obtained MITI approval and the brave leaders who worked at the office during the crucial period
Throughout the year of 2020 and 2021, numerous virtual engagement sessions and mini townhalls were organised to keep our people informed of the latest Covid-19 developments, and education about SARS-CoV-2 and Covid-19 – Contagious But Not Infectious, and etc.
Full Hybrid Setup Adhering To SOPs
MENTAL HEALTH IS EQUALLY IMPORTANT.
We care for our people’s mental health just as much as their physical health. A series of mental health related virtual engagement sessions were incorporated to ensure that we kept our EPians’ mental health in check. These included Mindset Change, Adapt to Virtual/Hybrid Engagement and “Where to now?”, by our guest speaker, Dr. Eugene Koh, a Psychiatrist.
Virtual Engagements With EPians
Today, we are proud to say that we are the first few organisations to have more than 98% of our EPians fully inoculated with two(2) doses of the Covid-19 vaccination at the early phase of the Covid-19 inoculation programme in Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia.
FUTURE PROOFING OUR GREAT WORKPLACE
ACCELERATION OF DIGITALISATION.
Right before the pandemic began, we foresaw the future of digitalisation as a tenable working model in the new era. In early 2020, we had transformed the way we worked by migrating our working model to a cloud-based operation.
Upon the announcement by the Malaysian government on the country-wide Movement Control Order(MCO) on 18 March 2020, our team could swiftly switch to a full virtual working model the day after, with minimal glitches.
Today, we are digitally competent and well adapted into both the virtual and hybrid connections with EPians and Healthcare Professionals.
CONTINGENCY PLAN TO NAVIGATE THROUGH COVID-19
Navigation Measures for Business Continuity Planning
In the face of an unprecedented pandemic ahead of us, we were prepared for the worst-case scenario for the business as we had set up navigation plans and measures to be taken for business continuity purposes.
EMPOWERING OUR HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS
KEEPING OUR HCPS WELL-INFORMED WITH COVID-19 KNOWLEDGE.
Webinar on 2020 New Beginning 1.0: Post MCO & Covid-19 and 2021 New Beginning 2.0: Covid-19 Vaccines
We value and have consistently considered the welfare of our network of Healthcare Professionals (HCPs). During both the MCOs in 2020 and 2021, we were one of the first to organise several Covid-19 related webinars for all HCPs in Malaysia.
The sessions featured some of the country’s top and reputable speakers like Associate Professor Dr. Pang Yong Kek, Dato’ Dr. Musa Nordin, Associate Professor Dr. Ernest Poh, Dr. Hilmi Lockman to name a few, and was attended by more than 2,000 participants.
Besides that, our efforts continued with more than 60 sharing sessions to targeted groups of key accounts and HCPs nationwide.
COURAGEOUS EPIANS ON THE FIELD.
EPians meeting and connecting with HCPs
On the field, our brave EPians braced themselves against all odds to keep our HCPs updated of the latest information and stay connected.
